Today's Words of Wisdom are:
Have you ever wondered exactly what you were doing here? Ever felt unsure of your path or decisions? Or maybe you have prayed and believe you are making the right decisions, but with each step you are fearful.
I have always been close to my family and never wanted to move away from them. In fact, I said I never would. This is one of those "never say never" moments. When my husband and I married in January 2003, I was living in Kentucky and he was living in Oklahoma. That's quite a distance away. Though I knew at the time it was the right decision to move halfway across the country, I was fearful of doing it. I worried about getting my things moved such a great distance, worried about finding a job, and hated the thought of leaving my parents and siblings behind... not knowing when I'd get to be with them again. But God was with me and gave me peace.
When you feel afraid of the road before you... of the future that feels uncertain... remember God's promise to go before you.
What fearful or uncertain times have you faced, that you received peace from God about your decisions?

i so needed his encouragement today!! thanks a bunch for posting this!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post- We can rely on God, its hard to do sometimes. I struggle with even the little things of letting go and just trusting in him. I love to meditate on Philippinas 4:6 when I get anxious about something. Thanks for sharing-

I love your posts - it truly is comforting to know that when making those big (or even small) decisions, you are not alone. He's guided my husband and I in the right direction so far! Our families miss us being away, but we are so completely happy with our lives. We've got a cool dude helping to lead our way! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I used to "ask God" about stuff like 10-15 years ago and then I just thought it was ridiculous. I was asking to win the lotto, to find a girlfriend, to be happy...etc. Stupid, right? Now it's more along the lines of living the Golden Rule.

ReplyDeleteI know where you're coming from, because it's been discussed before and I'm not sure I could ever move away from my family. It would take HIS leading for me to take that step.
ReplyDeleteI loved this! God is so faithful. Leaving home is h a r d! God's plans are always best though!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of your sweet comments. I have definitely learned of the great blessings that follow, when we surrender our will to HIS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to view things - I will have to remind myself this (often!) I am also one of those "I will never move away" people but am fearful it will bite me in the butt someday.
ReplyDeleteLately I've been asking God to guide us to where he wants us to be - if it is His will that we keep our house here or move. I am putting it in His hands.
